Committees: Audit & Finance

The Audit and Finance Committee is responsible for performing an internal audit of the WIAWWA’s financial records, issuing an internal audit report, and ensuring financial statements are prepared following nonprofit accounting standards.

The Audit and Finance Committee will also provide information, education and networking opportunities for persons interested in sound financial management and ratemaking for water utilities. The Committee will serve as a forum for professionals from various areas of utility financial management to discuss, explore, and consider researching issues of concern to utilities and develop effective ways to share information and assist utilities. The Committee will advance and disseminate knowledge of best practices, procedures, industry standards, research, and emerging trends related to utility accounting, financial management and ratemaking.


  • Perform the necessary audit procedures in a timely manner.
  • Provide opportunities for WIAWWA members to learn about accounting updates and financial concerns of Wisconsin utilities through seminars, webinars, or other activities.
  • Partner with other organizations with a similar mission to disseminate industry trends in utility financial management.
  •  Discuss and develop recommendations for best practices.
  • Identify topics of interest for research to be conducted by the Committee or other committees.
