Mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 26 for the annual research workshop/picnic and discussion organized by the WIAWWA Research Committee.  The event takes place from 9:30am to Noon.  The event is historically casual. This year, the “research picnic/workshop” will be held in a virtual setting for the safety of all participants.

The day involves discussion about the state of the drinking water industry, identifying areas where the industry is lacking in information that could be filled with research.  There are also some short, informal presentations.

This year, there will be a presentation by the 2020 WIAWWA Research Award Winner, Matt Ginder-Vogel.  There will be a presentation and discussion of PFAS by Dr. Sarah Yang. Jennifer Warner, our Water Research Foundation representative and research committee member, will present an update of the drinking water related activities at Water Research Foundation.  The day will include informal discussion and thoughts about knowledge gaps in the drinking water field.

Attendees include water utility managers, chemists, operators, engineering consultants, professors, research scientists, engineers, water equipment manufacturers, regulators, and other government officials.

The cost is $10.  Students may attend for free.  On-line registration is posted on the WIAWWA website.  All attendees should register on-line in advance so a link can be emailed to them prior to the meeting date.

Credits for operator (CECs) and engineering/accounting (PDHs) licenses will be provided.
