Small Systems

Mission Statement 

The Committee will support, encourage and nurture its small water system members through educational training, networking opportunities and recognition of utility excellence. The Committee will work with other WWA committees to encourage small system involvement in the association and provide organizational support to its small-utility members.

2012 Goals 

• Host at least one full-day, hands-on workshop tailored to the needs and interests of small-utility staff.
• Promote small system educational opportunities through CLEAR, the WWA Annual Meeting, and other association programs.
• Provide resources for small-utility staff to effectively communicate with its elected officials and municipal government.
• Work with other WWA Committees to provide small-system perspective on association programs and resources.

Activities Plan

• Conduct a daylong Small Systems Hands-On Workshop
• Develop a Small Systems Day at the 2012 WWA Annual Meeting with technical programs, panel discussions and events tailored to small-utility interests
• Host a Small Systems Reception at the WWA Annual Conference
• Support CLEAR in identifying program topics of interest to small utilities
• Assist Membership Committee in promoting WWA to small utilities and their municipal officials
