Membership

Mission Statement

To promote new memberships and retention of current members in WWA and AWWA in the State of Wisconsin. Improve membership retention through increased member participation and involvement and promotion of the benefits of membership in the association. 

Composition

The Membership Committee consists of the Chair, Vice-Chair, Retention Coordinator, New Member Coordinator, and Prospectives Coordinator.  Members are recruited from the Section at‑large, and should provide for reasonable geographic coverage of the State. 

2010 - 2011 Goals

1.    Increase net membership by 1% by 12/31/11.

2.    Retain at least 99% of existing members who remain active in Wisconsin water supply communities.

3.    Increase the number of different people actively participating on committees and in other activities by 10% by 12/31/11.

4.    Develop an active relationship with student chapters.

5.    Recruit four Utility Memberships.

6.    Maintain communication with new, dropped, or late members.

 

Activities Plan

1.    Work with CLEAR captains to include membership information at CLEAR seminars.

2.    Coordinate exhibiting a WWA recruitment display or manned booth at the following events:

a.    WWA Annual Meeting

b.    Wisconsin Rural Water Association Annual Meeting

c.    Appropriate educational/technical seminars

3.    Create a member appreciation video and email and distribute to all existing members.

4.    Organize a mailing updating existing members on WWA activities and include a small gift of appreciation.

5.    Organize a social event for existing members.  Include incentives for members that bring a non-member to the event.

6.    Develop a membership database that can be useful in identifying events and functions that will increase overall membership and individual participation.

7.    Identify individuals who have discontinued or lapsed memberships and contact each individual.  Maintain information from these contacts for future use.
