Information Technology & Security

 

 

Mission Statement

To provide information, education, and networking opportunities for persons in the Wisconsin water industry who have interests in the use and application of information technology and security tools for water utility management and operation.  Be responsible for content of and maintenance of the WWA website.  Provide networking opportunities through committee meetings, telephone conferences, and educational activities.  Provide information and education opportunities through seminars and other WWA communication avenues.

 

2011-2012 GOALS 

1.                  Think outside the box and help WWA train efficiently by working and interjecting technology, such as web conferencing, social networking, etc. into other committees

2.                  Have a spring seminar with 5-6 exhibiters and an attendance of approximately 50 people.  Use e-mail blasts, newsletter articles and social networking accounts to advertise

3.                  Have an IT track at the annual meeting.  Use e-mail blasts, newsletter articles and social networking accounts to advertise

4.                  Whenever possible, partner with other industry organizations to provide quality education to the WWA membership

5.                  Share booth at annual conferences, when possible, to update members on what’s new with IT/Security

6.                  Enhance Facebook and Twitter Accounts

7.                  Continue to Develop Member to Member feature

8.                  Recruit 2 new committee members

 

ACTIVITIES PLAN 

1.                  Hold a minimum of 6 committee meetings, including one or two in-person meetings and four or five telephone conferences

2.                  Provide a variety of quality topics and speakers at both the Spring Seminar and the Annual Conference

3.                  Prepare articles for at least 2 WWA Section Newsletters.

4.                  Sub-committee to keep Facebook and Twitter accounts active and interesting.

5.                  Explore new options/activities for the Committee to help promote the WWA, its’ website, committees, and activities

6.                  Update website
