MISSION STATEMENT

To show the importance of basic and applied research in the day-to-day operation of water utilities. To stress the importance of scientific methodology as a decision-making tool at water utilities.  To promote membership in the Water Research Foundation (WaterRF) as a source of information to water utility staff and as a source of funding for water research.

GOALS

ACTIVITIES PLAN

Annual Events

  • Research Committee Picnic: This event features informal discussion about current issues in the drinking water community. Researchers, water utility personnel, consultants, regulators, and manufacturers all meet to discuss ideas. The day also features fresh air, gardens, and comfort food.  The next picnic is Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

  • Research Award Winner Selection: The Committee selects the research of a Wisconsin resident every year to feature. This highlights the excellent fundamental and applied drinking water research being performed in Wisconsin. The award winner gives a short presentation at the Picnic, receives a plaque at the award ceremony at the WIAWWA Annual Conference, and is entered into the Wisconsin Research Award Winners Book.

  • Utility Challenges Survey – WIAWWA Research Committee requests that  members, especially water utility personnel, complete a short on-line survey describing challenges being faced at Wisconsin water utilities.  To complete this survey, click on the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/bMZCij3dRcmsOgrf1.  Fill out the survey and click on the submit button by the deadline of June 2, 2017.
