Distribution
Mission Statement
The Distribution Committee structures its activities with regard to repair and maintenance of water distribution systems including but not limited to water mains, valves, services, hydrants, materials, and equipment in the pursuit of providing quality and sufficient water to the communities served. The Committee provides networking opportunities for all WWA members to advance their knowledge and experiences in maintaining distribution systems and provides educational opportunity for Distribution Employees.
2011 Goals
- Continue networking committee meetings by rotating host utility for meeting locations and encouraging additional new members.
- Provide Distribution related educational opportunities throughout the State by conducting the 10th Annual Distribution Conference, March 8 & 9, 2011. Provide section with successful financial performance of the conference.
- Provide employee exchange opportunities as new technologies and/or processes are present.
- Provide assistance for Distribution related topics for inclusion in the CLEAR program and WWA Annual Meeting.
Activities Plan
- Conduct at least quarterly Committee Meetings to discuss Distribution Training needs for the Section and Utility employees at large. Discuss existing practices and new developments in work methods, materials and equipment.
- Develop, plan and coordinate the details of the 2011 Distribution Conference with the WWA Chair and WWA Education Committee.
- The Committee Chair will:
- Provide Committee minutes and updated Committee roster to WWA Central Office and update the WWA Website.
- Provide Annual Activities report to the Secretary / Treasures 30 days prior to the Annual Meeting.
- Attend one WWA Board Meeting in 2011
The Committee Vice-Chair will:
- Submit Newsletter articles by designated due dates.
- Provide relevant topics and assist with qualified speakers to be considered for the 2011 Annual Meeting Technical Program agenda.
- Consider and decide whether to move the Meter Madness Competition from the 2011 Annual Conference to 2012 Midwest Expo as has been requested.
- Have some fun!
