| about us Wisconsin Water for the World Committee is a committee of the Wisconsin Water Association. WWWC is the international public service arm of WWA. WWWC works with selected partners and collaborates with identified in-need communities to assist them in working toward sustainable, essential water and sanitation projects and promoting environmental health and education. 2006-2007 GOALS 1. Review mission statement/annual goals in January and revise as needed. 2. Raise at least $15,000 for designated water projects. 3. Increase awareness and education among WWA membership and community at large about sanitary water issues and Wisconsin Water for the World. 4. Finance work and provide technical support as needed to maintain/improve existing water systems supported by committee in Guatemala. 5. Complete Nueva Providencia water project in Guatemala in February in cooperation with students of Milwaukee School of Engineering. 6. Contribute to other Wisconsin Water for the World projects in partnership with national WFP. 7. Strengthen relationship with national WFP and continue to encourage active involvement in national WFP-initiated projects via technical assistance. 8. Participate significantly in development of national WFP’s country action plan for Guatemala. 9. Strengthen relationship with other WWA committees, and look for opportunities to work together on projects. 10. Develop relationships with selected non-government organizations outside of the water industry to develop synergy in addressing efforts to bring safe water to communities in Guatemala. Explore as necessary the formation of an independent entity to participate in shared projects outside the Water For People relationship. |
