  • Baker Tilly’s Utility University – October 19, 2017 at the Kalahari Resort in the WI Dells


    Baker Tilly’s Utility University is an accounting fundamentals workshop for public utilities that also features timely accounting topics and industry issues. You don’t want to miss this continuing education-eligible opportunity to enhance the day-to-day financial operations of your utility.


    Topics will include:

    • Using the PSCW chart of accounts as a tool, and other related regulatory topics
    • IT controls for the non-IT expert
    • Developing a financial road map for your utility
    • Value added cash reserve and investment policies
    •  Common sales tax issues for municipal utilities
    •  GASB update including GASB 75 on OPEB accounting and reporting
    •  Tips to make your annual audit go smoothly


    Cost to attend:  $80 per person


    Continuing education:

    This workshop is eligible for 7 total hours of continuing professional education (CPE) credit offered by Baker Tilly for these fields of study: Accounting, Accounting (Governmental), Business Management & Organization, and Finance.


    In addition, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has approved this training for operator certification continuing education credits (CECs) including 6 hours Municipal Waterworks and 6 hours Wastewater.


    Advance registration is required by Wednesday, Oct. 11.
